A melancholy little ditty. After twenty-odd years of making music with myself, I realized I could use, like, my voice ...and words. A revolutionary concept that other people are bound to pick up on soon, I'll bet.

Donna Monarch: lead vocal & lyric
Travis Roberts: guitars & vocals
Wheatberry: vocal
sao: keys & sampling, rare bass, vocal & lyric

We recorded this with Donna in the throes of a cold and she considers it a scratch track, so she'll probably kill me for posting this mix. We find it difficult not to love her anyway, as Travis demonstrates above. A new version is coming soon, but this has some irreplaceable vibe.

Largely derived from my love affair with my new  adorable little virtual ms20 (since my real one above, 'Lemont,' still needs repair). This had some holes where I figured there'd be solos, but I played it for the band when they stopped by to record. Wheatberry instantly came up with a chorus and Travis and Donna did the harmonies. I recall thinking for a moment that I knew what the song was about, and put the title over the choruses.

Since Scott wasn't around that day, we decided to see just how much we could deviate from the live version and proceeded to get deliberately bratty about it. Nothing wrong with a little pissy version. When the vodka wore off and Scott called us lame, we agreed the original rawk and rollism has more ball, so we've got a slightly more unplugged one on the drawing board.

We really wanted a sound here like the Monkees... in drag... on Valium. I think we got close.

Travis Roberts: bass, mandolin
sao: keys & sampling,
back up vocal

Posting this cuts to the essential freakiness of blogging and why everyone may want to kill me for it: last time Jude heard this, it was his approved demo mix of about four tracks. I tweaked,  prodded  and added a lot of stuff.  Hey Jude, I hope you like it, or at least don't shoot me. :) Be posting more of Jude's songs soon, (assuming I'm not forbidden to ever do such again).

Ambient piece from a work in progress, a proposed double cd in 8 parts by the same name at this point. The main texture here is heavily processed field  recordings, mostly birds, slowed down about 300%, with floating metallaphone and cello structures.

This one's very reminiscent of the feel of Music For Airports, as probably more things should be.

Something more may develop from this funky little synthesizer bop from the Gods & Monsters era. Nothing has yet. Fun organ solo though.

Working title of course. I think Wheatberry has a song idea for this groove.

An even more descriptive working title. Posted as just another example of the recent development of writing dozens of minimal (read: underdeveloped) ideas and storing them away. Not sure if it's a bout of ADD or there's some purpose behind it. Perhaps just an effect of the virtual synths, which are still pretty new and addictive to me.

More of the same. Is that a saxophone in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
